Stop two: Water Tower - Beautiful piece of art with quite the history. It looks so odd in the midst of these crazy sky scrapers with glass windows.
Walked the Miracle Mile. Such an amazing stroll with my dad. History is just sitting there and people just walking by like a building you have to bend back to see the top is the "norm." Then again. I am just a southern little girl in awe after the 50th floor.
Walking by this beautiful corner, we decided to hop on the architectural river tour. Which was AH-MA-ZING! Our tour guide Victor did the best job. He knew every single name of every single building, every name of every architect, and the information on the city and future sky scrapers. If you ever have the chance to take this tour, i highly encourage you to! The tour has the coolest views and picture moments:
And by the end of that 75 minute tour, we were hungry. So we stop into the Bakery Corner which I think is Chicago's equivalent to Panera Bread. They are every where! And delicious!
And after lunch? Endless walking. It was wonderful. We also found cloud gate. Also known THE BEAN. We stopped by Palmer House (A hilton now), Marshal Field and Company (Macys now), and lots of spots where famous movies were filmed.
Can't get over how beautiful this city is:
And after a tiring day on the feet a delicious breakfast for dinner.
love seeing Chicago through your eyes Em! also, the wide angle image of Chicago skyline (taken while you're on the boat, I think) is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteEMI. THESE ARE SO GOOD. These are all the pictures I wanted to take when I visited Chicago last year-- it's such a beautiful city and you captured it perfectly!
